Responsibilities:

An immediate opportunity currently exists in our Dartmouth office for a Senior Structural Engineer. The ideal candidates will be required to design concrete, masonry, steel and wood building structures.

The successful candidate will concurrently work on a range of projects of differing complexity, construction value and at different stages in the procurement cycle.

You will draw on your proactive and analytical problem solving skills to deliver robust structural solutions working either independently or supporting larger interdisciplinary teams.  As part of your role, you will be expected to coach less experienced team members. 



Qualifications:
  • This position will be of interest to candidates with minimum 10 years of applicable Canadian experience.
  • Proficient in steel, concrete, masonry and wood design.
  • Proficiency in the use of STAAD, Safe and SAFI would be desirable.
  • Strong Project Management skills.
  • Experienced in proposal writing.
  • Performs marketing of clients, negotiating with client and/or on behalf of client, etc.
  • Self-motivation and strong interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks are essential.
  • The successful candidate should also demonstrate a commitment to client service that is second to none.
  • A proven passion for your profession and employ results driven practices.
  • The work will involve a diversity of interesting and challenging projects.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in Nova Scotia or eligibility for provincial registration is required.
