Your Duties

Stantec's Canada Central Environmental Services practice is looking for an Engineer, Engineer in Training or Engineering Graduate to join our growing Acoustic, Noise and Vibration practice. This opportunity is located in our Markham, ON office. Our Acoustical engineers provide specialized services to a wide variety of sectors including industry, government, architecture, transportation and buildings. Our practitioners offer a full suite of services including permitting, monitoring, modeling, planning, policy studies, design and control.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting data collection, desktop based technical analysis and modeling, post processing, interpretation, and documentation of results under guidance of senior practitioners
  • Conducting field measurements in support of technical analyses and modeling
  • Authoring technical reports based on the results of technical analyses
  • Coordinating with project teams (internal and external)
  • Working to assist in streamlining and standardizing methods for data collection and analysis


Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Graduate of an accredited university with a major in Engineering
  • Registered or eligible to register as an Engineer-in-Training with the Professional Engineer of Ontario
  • Familiarity with data acquisition practices and software
  • Experience with sound and vibration measurement instruments and modeling software (e.g., CADNA/A, TNM, Stamina, STAMSON, etc.) would be an asset
  • Demonstrated experience in working in a team environment and communicating with external clients
  • Working knowledge of software (e.g., Microsoft Office, CAD, etc.)
  • Creative, organized and able to multi-task while working independently
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Diligent and detail oriented with the desire to learn
  • Flexibility in scheduling required for travel related to site surveys
  • A valid driver’s license is required
