Your Duties

Stantec is looking for a Promotional Merchandise Specialist, based in Edmonton, Alberta. This position requires someone who has real marketing desire—a team player who can help bring our brand to life through uniquely designed and customized Stantec “swag” and also support our Promotional Programs team on special projects.


In this role, you’ll lead our Promotional Merchandise program. You’ll work with external suppliers and our internal graphic designers to source unique products and brand them using Stantec’s distinctive visual and verbal identity. You’ll be responsible for managing our internal online ordering system – from sourcing unique, customizable products and using your creative writing skills to write punchy product descriptions, to managing our large inventory of products including monthly reporting and financial reconciliations, to working with internal clients to develop custom products as required.


You’ll also support our Promotional Programs team with the opportunity to get involved in photography, advertising, tradeshows/conferences, and other marketing campaigns.

Your Capabilities and Credentials


  • Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, design, or related area.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a marketing-related field.
  • Experience sourcing promotional products would be considered an asset.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based interfaces.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and also in cooperation with a larger team.
  • Candidate should enjoy working with different personality styles and management levels, both in person and virtually.
  • Must feel comfortable working assertively in a deadline-driven environment.
