Stantec is seeking a Senior Architectural Technologists/Job Captains to support our growing general practice. Principles of place-making, sustainability and change adaptation are hallmarks of our design approach. We design to improve efficiency and reduce costs while facilitating connections amongst people

Your Duties

Our Edmonton office has immediate requirements for Senior Architectural Technologists/Job Captains with experience such as institutional projects, commercial, schools or sports and recreation sector experience to join our multidisciplinary team.


As the successful candidate your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Provide production technical lead expertise in the detailed design of buildings
  • Prepare contract drawings, specifications, schedules, details and sketches from conceptual design through to construction
  • Advise on approaches to construction documentation and team composition
  • Support Contract Administrators or perform contract administration yourself
  • Assist Principals and Senior Associates with successful project delivery
  • Complete projects within timelines and budgets
  • Support good policies on project delivery, quality control, and safety
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams
  • Mentor junior and intermediate technologists

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • The ideal candidate will have an Architectural Technology Diploma and at least 10 years of experience on various architectural building projects
  • Proficient to advanced user of Revit a must; at least 2-5 years of hands on Revit design is required
  • Demonstrated experience in a variety of project types and project delivery methods
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Excel at written and verbal communication
  • Positive, solution-oriented attitude
  • Strong understanding of the relation between the Alberta Building Code and detailing
  • Experience in Contract Administration is an asset
