    Stantec is seeking a Geographical Leader (GL) in the Canada Central & Atlantic geography to lead and execute strategy as part of the overall corporate business plan. The Geographical Leader (GL) is responsible and accountable for the geography’s operations management across business lines including yet not limited to: financial performance including revenue growth, gross margin and operating income growth, talent attraction, engagement and retention, business development and winning of strategic pursuits, local delivery of high quality professional services, business compliance, and health and safety adherence.

    Your Duties

    As an active partner in Stantec’s collaborative model, the GL champions communication, commitment, and cooperation demonstrated by working collaboratively with Regional Leaders, Business Leaders, Sector Leaders and Discipline Leaders to maximize opportunities across business lines and within the overall Stantec client base. The GL reports directly to the Regional Operating Business Leader (ROUL).




    • The GL is expected to implement effective business strategies for delivering on-target performance and meet various business metrics. This includes financial performance of each region and BC and take remedial/corrective actions as required to achieve goals. The GL ensures compliance with Stantec's policies, practices, and procedures by all employees within the region. 
    • In collaboration with the BLs and RBLs, the GL works directly with RLs to prepare and implement regional strategic plans, which include annual regional business plans and budgets outlining the yearly focus, and priorities for implementation and sets specific goals for performance and/or growth for each region and Business Center (BC) within the geography. 
    • The GL leads initiatives and works with RLs to represent the Company regionally within the community and coordinates employee participation in technical and professional associations. This includes the coordination of Community Engagement programs.
    • The GL is responsible for sustainable growth in the geography, and must collaboratively work with other regional and business line leadership to understand the state of the business in the geography and develop strategies to grow that business, both organically and through acquisitions.
    • The GL works with RLs to implement successful employee attraction and retention activities as well as ensuring compensation consistency across regions and BCs.
    • The GL reports directly to the ROUL and interacts frequently with other members of Stantec senior and executive leadership teams.
    • The GL works with RLs to champion and foster new initiatives to enhance a culture that exemplifies our four values – We Put People First, We Do What is Right, We are Better Together and We Are Driven to Achieve. 

    Your Capabilities and Credentials

    • Extensive leadership experience with a large volume organization combined with a university degree in a professional discipline
    • Proven experience with change management and organizational culture change
    • Strong financial management, people management and team building skills
    • Results-oriented individual who excels in a multi-disciplinary environment
    • Advanced communication and business development skills
    • Strong desire to succeed, enthusiastic, and possess the highest degree of integrity
    • Ability to travel across and outside of the geography
